March 3 "FACING FEAR" Read: I Samuel 17...

FACING FEAR, the battle is the Lord’s!

Key Verse: 1 Samuel 17:47

David ran toward Goliath. He ran in faith based upon God’s previous deliverance of him from a bear and lion. He ran in confidence, knowing God had given him the ability to both run fast and use a sling well. He ran with wisdom, knowing he had chosen exactly the right stones.

As you look back over your life, you no doubt can recount many instances in which God has been with you in fearful circumstances. He has delivered you before. He has given you certain abilities and strengths. He promises in His Word to impart wisdom to you if you will only ask. At times you need to confront a frightening situation in a very direct and practical way. Run toward that thing that is causing fear, trusting God even as you go.

Remember, David did not focus on how big the giant, Goliath, was, but his focus was how big his God was! All of us have giants to face every day, fear, doubt, anger, sexual temptation, and many others, but we must remember to focus not on how big our giants are, but how big our God is and remember (1 John 4:4)"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." Verse 11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."(Rev.12:10-11)

Always remember that no matter how deep the valley or how dark the clouds, God is always with you. May our wonderful Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine on you and give you peace.

God Bless You!
