Key Verse: 1 Peter 1:4-5 reads:
"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
If you are saved, do you honestly realize that Jesus saved you from hell through His horrific death on the cross? That was enough, wasn't it? But God has given us more...awaiting us is an inheritance in heaven that we are so underserving of...God has proved, is proving and will always prove His love for us!
Our inheritance in heaven is "incorruptible", indestructible! It is "undefiled", unstained by evil! Dear saints, the Bible says it "fadeth not away"... it is un-impaired by time!
Our inheritance is awaiting us and has already been put in safe keeping and continues there! Folks, we too, are being kept by God's power through faith! Our lives are kept and preserved by the power of God. The power of God has proved adequate and sustaining in all of our lives! Life has meaning when we realize that God's power keeps us through faith!
Knowing ALL of this, (the security of our position of salvation and of our inheritance in heaven), what does it mean to us?
WE SHOULD REJOICE!
1 Peter 6:1 says, "Wherein ye greatly rejoice..."
1 Thess 5:16 says, "rejoice evermore..."
ARE WE REJOICING BECAUSE OF WHAT GOD HAS DONE? BECAUSE OF WHAT IS AWAITING US IN HEAVEN?
INCREASE OUR LOVE FOR GOD!
1 Thess 5:8 says, "Whom having not seen, ye love"...
1 John 4:19 says, "We love him, because he first loved us..."
ARE WE IN LOVE WITH GOD? DO WE SHOW HIM? LOVE is giving, are we giving God time, in reading His word? Are we praying? Are we faithful to church?
These are simple ways we can learn TODAY, right now...to rejoice and to love God more BECAUSE of everything He has done for us...
